From the Barbican's Associates

Whether you want to listen to an old favourite, discover something new or try classical music for the first time, you can find a range of performances and recordings from our associate orchestras and ensembles.

London Symphony Orchestra

The LSO have been our Resident Orchestra since our opening in 1982. Their mission is to bring the greatest music to the greatest number of people, performing roughly 70 concerts a year in our Hall.

The LSO releases new music every Sunday on its YouTube channel: watch excerpts and previews from orchestral concerts recorded at the Barbican and LSO St Luke’s, and chamber performances filmed by LSO musicians at home. Plus don’t miss live broadcasts of LSO Discovery Friday Lunchtime Concerts.

Academy of Ancient Music

An internationally renowned orchestra and choir, our Associate Ensemble the Academy of Ancient Music perform Baroque and Classical music in the way it was first intended to be heard.

Academy of Ancient Music is streaming concerts every Sunday at 3pm.

Britten Sinfonia

Our Associate Ensemble Britten Sinfonia is famed for its dazzling musicianship and thrilling programmes. They unusually do not have a principal conductor or director, choosing instead to focus on its virtuoso musicians.

Britten Sinfonia are sharing behind the scenes interviews and performances from concerts including ones performed here at the Barbican.

BBC Symphony Orchestra

As our Associate Orchestra the BBC Symphony Orchestra perform an exciting, distinctive and wide-ranging annual season of concerts in our concert hall, from works at the heart of classical music to contemporary premieres.
